Stephen Page and David Steinberger, the CEOs of UK-based Faber & Faber and US-based Perseus, will explain how they see their new joint venture extending the global distribution capabilities of independent publishers. They’ll discuss the factors that motivated them to form this new venture, and they’ll share insight about where and how they see digital adoption and market growth beyond the US and UK.

Stephen Page began his career in bookselling before moving into publishing. In 1994 he joined Fourth Estate, becoming Managing Director in 2000. In 2001 he joined Faber as CEO and in 2006 Faber was named Publisher of the Year followed by Indpendent Publisher of the Year in 2011. He has been President of the Publishers’ Association and gave the keynote address for World Book Day in 2007. He frequently writes and speaks on industry issues, especially the effects of fast-moving technological developments on authors and publishing.

Joe Mangan
Chief Operating Officer, Perseus Books Group

Joe is the Chief Operating Officer of Perseus Books Group, where he oversees the Company’s physical and digital operations and helps set and execute the company’s strategy. During Joe’s tenure, Perseus has emerged as the leading services provider to independent publishers, with more than 350 publishing clients across the company’s three business lines: Perseus Distribution, PGW and Consortium.Joe has been with Perseus since 2004, prior to which he held managing director and principal positions with Razorfish and Booz Allen respectively, where he helped media companies pursue transformational opportunities. Prior to that, Joe worked as an independent computer consultant.
